Hello Pack 9037 Families!

I hope that you and your kids are enjoying summer vacation so far, although it hasn't seemed very much like summer yet.  If you are looking for something to do, we do have a few upcoming scout events.

First up is Saturday, June 15.  St. Stephen’s as designated this day as their Spring Clean Up Day.  Breakfast will be served by the church staff at 8:00 AM with cleaning beginning at 9:00 AM.  The pack is welcome to participate.  I will be not able to make it, but you may want to check with your den leader or other parents from your den to see if we can have representation from the pack.

Tuesday, June 25 is our first Summer Activity, Fishing With A Ranger.  This will be at 6:30 PM at Hidden Falls, all rods and bait are provided at no cost.  Please contact me (cubmaster.pack9037@gmail.com) no later than Tuesday, June 18 to sign up for this event as the Ranger needs to know how much equipment and bait to bring.  Siblings and parents are welcome to fish as well, but anyone over 18 is required to have a license.

Camp Akela is soon approaching and if you have signed up you should have received an email from Dan Halsey with the logistics.  If you have not received an email or you want to see if there is still space available, you can contact Dan at camping.pack9037@gmail.com.

August 2 is the backyard camping event, our second Summer Activity.  If you are willing to donate your backyard for your den, contact your den leader and Jennie Robinson Kloos at youthrecruit.pack9037@gmail.com.  The rough plan is for families to setup their tents and then head to Dodge Nature Center for a bonfire.  As a reminder, we are also collecting school supplies as part of this event.  If you have questions about the supplies, contact Nicole Watson at Nicole.watson@comcast.net.

Tuesday, August 20 is our last Summer Activity, a pack hike at the Lilydale Regional Park "Brick Yard Area.”  If there are safety concerns, we will look at an alternate site.  Look for more details as this event gets closer.

Cubmaster Minute:  Have a safe and enjoyable summer!
